Harmanpreet Kaur’s on-field behaviour in the 3rd ODI between India and Bangladesh has put her on the receiving end of major criticism. From fans to members of the cricketing world, everyone has spoken against Kaur’s actions.
Former Indian cricketer and 1983 World Cup winner, Madan Lal, Tweeted about Harmanpreet Kaur, condemning her behaviour and ‘bigger than the game’ mentality. Most fans also spoke in opposition of the Indian Captain after she bashed the stumps in fury, argues with the Umpires and called the umpiring levels pathetic during the post-match presentation.
Madan Lal posted on Twitter saying, “Harmanpreet’s behaviour against the Bangladesh women’s team was pathetic. She is not bigger than the game. She got a very bad name for Indian cricket. BCCI should take very strict disciplinary action.”
Heavy charges against Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet Kaur was awarded 3 demerit points and has been charged 75% of her match fees for indulging in on-field misconduct. The ICC has penalised the Indian Captain for her actions.
While Smriti Mandhana came out in support of her skipper, there is no denying that Kaur’s actions were going to reap troubling consequences for her. Many believe that her behaviour has tarnished the ‘spirit of cricket.’ Bangladeshi Skipper Nigar Sultana majorly disapproved of the way her counterpart behaved with the hosts. The ODI series between the two teams ended in a 1-1 tie.
