India pacer Mohammed Siraj became the cynosure of all eyes when he bagged his six wickets in the 2023 Asia Cup Final against Sri Lanka on Sunday (September 17) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Because of his heroics, India skittled out Dasun Shanaka and Co. for a small total of 50 runs and later they chased it down to get crowned the 2023 Asia Cup champions. After the match, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor praised Siraj through her social media post.
Fans had expected a high-octane long match between India and Sri Lanka. But right from the first over of Sri Lanka’s innings, the watcher of the game got dumbfounded over what was happening on the field.
One by one Sri Lanka started losing wickets. Even before the completion of 10 overs, Sri Lanka lost six batters, all thanks to Siraj who scalped four wickets in the fourth over and completed his fifer in the sixth over.
Jasprit Bumrah triggered Sri Lanka’s demolition in the first over. Hardik Pandya later scalped three wickets and India sent all the Lankan batters to the dugout. The match started at 3:40 PM and ended at around 6 PM. The Asia Cup in ODI format ending quickly prompted Shraddha Kapoor to take to her Instagram Story where she wrote: “Ab Siraj se hi pucho ki iss free time ka kya karna hain (Now ask Siraj what to do with this free time)“.
