India is squaring off with West Indies in the third and final ODI match on Wednesday, July 27 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. With the help of opener Shubman Gill’s 98-run knock, and skipper Shikhar Dhawan’s half-century, India scored 225/3. The match was restricted to just 40 overs due to rain.

India won the toss and opted to bat first. They started well with Dhawan and Gill. Dhawan smashed seven fours and scored 58 runs off 74 balls before Hayden Walsh Jr. dismissed him. Walsh had delivered a googley and Dhawan stepped out. The ball landed on leg stump and Dhawan got the top edge. The ball fell towards the mid-wicket and Nicholas Pooran was there to catch it.

The next batter, Shreyas Iyer missed six runs to score his half-century. Iyer hit four boundaries and a six to score 44 runs off 34 balls. But Akeal Hosein’s flatter ball made Iyer smash it well only to fell into the hands of the man at long on. Keemo Paul caught it and Iyer missed yet another half-century.

Shubman Gill played stunningly in this match. He played 98 balls to score 98 runs with seven fours and two sixes. But unfortunately, rain ruined his chances of scoring maiden international century.

India have won the two previous matches against West Indies. In the first match, they defeated the Windies by three runs, while in the second ODI, they won it my two wickets. West Indies have given tough competition to the Men in Blue. And it will be interesting to watch what West Indies batter will do to chase the run and avoid a white-wash. Notably, Windies needed 257 runs to win the match.
