A couple of days after receiving criticism from trolls for not mentioning Virat Kohli‘s century and only praising Shubman Gill’s ton, Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, again took to Twitter, this time, to give a hard-hitting reply to his haters.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) needed to win their last league match, against Gujarat Titans (GT). Both Kohli and Gill scored their tons for their respective teams but it was the latter’s 100 which snatched the playoffs hope from the Faf du Plessis-led side. RCB, with Kohli’s 101* off 61, posted 197/5. On the other hand, GT chased down the target to win the match by six wickets due to Gill’s 104* off 52 and Vijay Shankar‘s 53 off 35. After the match, Ganguly took to Twitter to praise the 23-year-old as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“What talent this country produces ..shubman gill .. wow ..two stunning knocks in two halves .. IPL.. .. what standards in the tournament,” the former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president wrote. However, his tweet did not go down well with Kohli and RCB’s fans and they started slamming Ganguly for not praising or naming Virat Kohli in his tweet.

But a couple of days after this, Ganguly made it clear that his tweet had nothing to do with Kohli, but not without hitting back at the trolls. “Just a quick reminder ..hope those of you twisting this tweet, understand English .. if don’t please get someone responsible to explain,” Ganguly wrote, pointing out that those two centuries he mentioned were Gill’s only.

Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli allegedly developed sour relationship between them

The two former India captains are rumored to have developed a sour relationship between them since Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain after he was removed as ODI captain when Ganguly was the BCCI president. The 34-year-old even, in a controversial press conference, revealed the top brass did not have proper communication with him.

Also, during a match between DC and RCB in this IPL season, Kohli seemed to have given a death stare to Ganguly who was sitting in the dugout, and after the match, during the traditional shake, Ganguly walked past Kohli but they did shake hands during the teams’ second encounter. At the same time, both Kohli and Ganguly have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram.
