“Surya is the Astra in trouble!”- South African bowlers first boss the game, but Suryakumar Yadav rescues India from choking

India did not at all expect that they’ll lose their five batters before the 10th over of the match. Indian top-order batters failed in front of Lungi Ngidi‘s pace. The pitch at the Optus Stadium in Perth worked for the Proteas bowlers to dominate in the powerplay until Suryakumar Yadav showed his intent and played to steer the total to just 133/9 on Sunday [October 30].
Ngidi drew the first blood when he dismissed Rohit (15 runs off 14 balls) in the fifth over. KL Rahul (nine runs off 14 balls) again had a poor show when Ngidi dismissed him in the same over.
Virat Kohli, who scored two half-centuries in the two previous games, got trapped in the 7th over bowled by Ngidi. The man in dream form departed to the upset of the Perth fans. Ngidi knocked the ball short on the middle, and Kohli attempted to pull it but top-edged it to fine leg where Kagiso Rabada could never dare miss it.
Deepak Hooda has been included in this match and is also playing his first game. However, he left the field for a duck off three balls. Anrich Nortje, in the 8th over, smashed it to the length; Hooda managed an outside edge to give an easy catch to keeper Quinton de Kock.
But Suryakumar showed some intent and tried to play positively with Dinesh Karthik. When Indian batters stuttered while facing the Proteas’ pace attacks, Suryakumar completed his half-century off 30 runs to bring India into the game. It was also his 9th half-century this year.
However, Karthik played a sluggish inning and exited the field in the 15th over on Wayne Parnell’s delivery. The next batter, Ravichandran Ashwin, supported Suryakumar with a careful knock until Parnell sent him on the first ball of the 19th over. It was a bad shot from Ashwin as he tried to go for a six but mistimed it, and Radaba at the mid-wicket pouched the skier.
Parnell was the happiest bowler; he heaved a sigh of relief in the same over because he scalped the wicket of the dangerous Suryakumar. It was a slower ball from Parnell, and Suryakumar swung his bat hard but top-edged it to the mid-off fielder Keshav Maharaj.
Suryakumar will remember this knock which was also one of the best he has played. He departed after scoring 68 runs off 40 balls, including six boundaries and three maximums at a brilliant strike rate of 170; with his knock, India could only put on just 133/9 in their 20 overs.
