Players and fans are the indispensible part of a sport. One cannot work without the other, the joy of winning and performing and all such things will be less without the fans.

Cricket is happening all around the world. India defeated England and New Zealand almost lost a match to Ireland. But amid all these high-packed games, another thing is making headlines.

Nepalese cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane was involved in a Twitter war with USA’s Ali Khan. Khan is a pacer and he has played franchise cricket all over the world. He also was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders for one season in the Indian Premier League.

Khan lashed out at Nepalese people, called them the ‘worst fans’. He did this while reacting to a tweet from a journalist.

“Opening my DMs…I need to please set the record straight. There is o such thing as a filty rich Associate cricket journalist. If I really had “a lot of money”, the last thing I’d be doing is using it to buy players. I don’t own any team, or any cricket board, or any players.” The journalist tweet came after some Nepalese fans started accusing him of his bias against their national team. See his post below:

Reacting to the tweet, Khan said, “Nepali fans are the worst ever”. See his tweet below:

Now, Nepal cricket captain Sandeep Lamichhane, gave a befitting reply to Khan and said that he didn’t expect such words from someone who is a part of the cricket community and that sports should only bring people together and not divide them.

“Never expected such a generalized and hateful comment from one of my cricket colleagues. The people of Nepal breathe cricket. It’s in their blood. And they are a critical part of cricket world map. Sports should only bring people together & not divide them. #JaiNepal”
