“Kane is our lucky charm”- Fans hail SRH as they cruise to an easy victory after limiting RCB for two-digit total
SRH
Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 wickets after restricting them to just 68 runs at the Brabourne Stadium on Saturday, April 23.
Take a look at what fans have to say about this:
SRH won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB started by losing their top batsmen Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Anuj Rawat in the second over off Marco Jansen’s brilliant deliveries. After a golden duck in RCB’s previous match against Lucknow Super Giants, the former RCB skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for another duck. He is for the first time got out on a duck twice in a season.
As all eyed Dinesh Karthik’s knock, even he faltered. T. Natarajan then grabbed three wickets of Glenn Maxwell, Harshal Patel, and Wanindu Hasaranga. Apart from Maxwell (12 off 11 balls) and Suyash Prabhudessai (15 off 20 balls), no batsmen in RCB could score double digit runs. At the end they scored 68 runs which is also the 6th lowest total in the history of IPL.
It was a easy win for the Sunrisers and they defeated the Royal Challengers in just 8 overs by losing a single wicket of Abhishek Sharma who had scored 47 off 28 balls with 8 fours and a six. On the other end, Kane Williamson scored 16 runs off 17 balls with 2 fours. Harshal Patel got the wicket of Sharma.

“You want to make sure you don’t get a lot emotional”- RCB skipper Faf du Plessis
Look at what RCB skipper Faf du Plessis had said about their lowest score during the post-match presentation.
“The first four overs, we shouldn’t have lost so many wickets, it was a bit spicy upfront. We still got to find a way to set a foundation (in the upcoming games), even if it’s sacrificing a few runs in the powerplay. We just needed to get through that phase where the ball was swinging and seaming, one you get through it, it becomes easier”.
“This wicket looked the best, the expectations were pretty high, it was a very good wicket. There are no excuses though. Jansen bowled well in his first over swinging the ball both ways and got the big wickets. You want to make sure you don’t get a lot emotional; it was a bad day at the office, but you need to keep your chin up and need to get the learning from it. As a team we need to move forward, it’s a long tournament,” he added.
