In the 8th over of the match, Shubman Gill had dispatched Naseem Shah for a boundary on the first ball. Next ball Gill leaves a ball way outside off. On the 3rd ball of the over, Naseem bowled a very non threatening ball way outside the off stump, which Gill went to cut away but instead edged it.
As the ball was edged towards between Iftikhar Ahmad and Agha Salman, who were standing at 1st and 2nd slip. Both looked at each other as the ball travelled to the boundary for a boundary.
This was the 2nd time Gill was dropped in the match. He ended up scoring 58 runs off 52 balls after he was caught by Agha Salman thanks to a great slower ball by Shaheen Shah Afridi in the 18th over. After Gill’s dismissal KL Rahul came in to bat at No. 4, after Iyer was ruled out due to a back spasm.
The game is currently disturbed due to heavy rain, with the match delayed for over 2 hours. Even though this game has a reserve day, the priority for the match officials is to finish the match today. If the game restarts with Pakistan coming in to bat, they will have a target of 181 in 20 overs using Duckworth-Lewis method.

Fans react to hilarious blunder by Pakistani fielders
After Iftikhar Ahmad and Agha Salman left the catch, Indian fans started mocking the fielding of Pakistan. Gautam Gambhir asked the Pakistani team to “Never Change,” Fans called this “Peak Pakistan” and “Classic Pakistan” after their huge mistake.
Many fans also said that this was a normal occurrence for the Pakistan team and it was a normal day for the team. Some said it reminded them of the iconic mix-up between Shoaib Malik and Saeed Ajmal which caused them to miss a sitter. They said “It’s history repeating.”
