“Greatest All-rounder for a reason” – Stokes scores the highest score by an English player in ODIs, impresses everyone

In the 3rd ODI between England and New Zealand, Trent Boult picked up the wickets of Johnny Bairstow and Joe Root in his first 2 overs, Ben Stokes stepped in to bat. Ben Stokes had just come out of retirement a few weeks ago. In the first ODI he scored a half century and in the 2nd ODI he scored only one run.
His best came in the 3rd ODI. After coming in to bat in the 3rd over after Boult had picked up the wickets of Bairstow and Root, Stokes started his massacre. In the 124 balls he faced, he scored a mammoth 182. In the 124 balls he faced, he hit 15 boundaries and nine maximums. He broke Jason Roy’s record of the highest score by an English batsman. Jason Roy had scored 180* against Australia in 2018.
Thanks to Ben Stokes’s 182, England put up a good score of 368 runs, with the help of Dawid Malan’s 96 and a quickfire 38 by Captain, Jos Buttler. New Zealand lost their top order and Tom Latham thanks to great bowling by Chris Woakes and Reece Topley. Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips are currently batting for New Zealand, with New Zealand requiring 321 runs in 37 overs.

Fans were happy seeing him not acting selfish to reach his double century and kept trying to attack the New Zealand bowlers. They also said he is really good even while playing as a pure batsman.
