The third Ashes Test is currently underway and even though Australia are in a strong position, opener David Warner is still struggling with poor form. He became Stuart Broad‘s victim for the whopping 17th time in Test cricket on Friday (July 7) at the Headingley, Leeds. Shortly after Warner’s dismissals, fans on Twitter shared hilarious memes about Warner, and one of them was shared by Stuart Broad’s father and ICC referee Chris Broad.

Warner was dismissed by Broad in both the innings in a similar fashion with Zak Crawley taking the catch both times. In the second innings, Broad bowled a length delivery which Warner tried to defend. However, the ball after hitting the outside edge of the bat, flew toward the second slip where Crawly grabbed it safely. All Warner could score was a mere one run and took a long walk back to the pavilion.

Broad’s father Chris Broad, who represented England in 25 Tests and 34 ODIs, before becoming the referee in 2003, shared a picture of a scene from The Simpsons, the American animated series. The character of ‘Bart’ was photoshopped with the face of Warner, who was writing on the blackboard: “Stuart Broad has got me out again.”

Though it was just a meme, it did not go down well with the fans who questioned his actions despite his being the ICC match referee. Some fans said that though senior Broad is free to take his son’s side, he is still a veteran referee and should have refrained from posting such stuff.

Meanwhile, after winning the toss, Engish skipper Ben Stokes chose to field and with the help of Mark Wood‘s fifer, they skittled out the Aussies for 263 runs. Mitchell Marsh top scored with 118 runs.

England, despite Stokes’ 80, were bowled out for 237 runs. The visitors currently lead by 142 runs and they will start Day 3 from 116/4 with Travis Head (18*) and Marsh (17*).
