India are finding it a bit tough to put runs on the scoreboard on African soil and the same is the case for the bowlers as well. During their first Test match against South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, on December 27, Virat Kohli mimicked Stuart Broad by swapping the bails.
This happened when India were finding it difficult to get their second wicket. After the dismissal of opener Aiden Markram, the pair of Dean Elgar and Tony de Zorzi stayed glued to the crease for a long time with Elgar ensuring they added quick runs on the scoreboard.
Kohli, during the 29th over, changed the bails, and two balls later, Jasprit Bumrah gave the breakthrough when Zorzi edged the ball toward the third slip where Yashasvi Jaiswal grabbed an easy catch. Zorzi scored 28 runs from 62 balls with five fours and the incident before his dismissal caught fans’ attention.

The video of Kohli flipping the bails has already gone viral. Some fans even shared pictures and videos of England’s Stuart Broad who got a wicket after flipping the bails of the stumps during the 2023 Ashes. Broad has now reacted to Kohli’s doing the same thing during the Boxing Day Test match.
