Virat Kohli and Sunil Chhetri are two stalwarts in their respective fields and have brought immense glory to India. The legendary duo share a great friendship and Sunil Chhetri recently gave an insight into his bond with Virat Kohli.

In a chat show called ‘In the Stands’, Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri talked about his camaraderie with former Indian cricket skipper and shared that they have meaningful conversations with a touch of humor. The duo have been friends for quite some time now and Chhetri’s answers clearly highlighted how well the two get along.

About his conversations with Virat Kohli, Chhetri said, “We talk about a lot of normal things. We share a lot of laughter. We share a lot of jokes and a lot of funny stuff. I have had a lot of deep and meaningful chats. It’s not like we talk 24×7 every day. There are phases when we do not talk for months but the best part is that he understands and so do I.”

Virat Kohli and Sunil Chhetri both have had a fair share of tough times in their illustrious careers. Both have had to go through immense criticism as well but have managed to understand each other’s feelings and emotions during those times.

Lauding Kohli’s understanding nature, Chhetri elaborated, “The few times when I have felt the heat of who I am and the need to perform and the few times that he has felt the heat of who he is and the need to perform, is exactly when we have chatted. He understands that not everyone can understand what we are going through and it just hits the right note.”

Virat Kohli is currently with the Indian team on their tour of the West Indies. Sunil Chhetri on the other hand recently led his team to victory in the SAFF Championship final, which made India 9 time-champions of the tournament.
