After recovering from injuries, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were named to the India squad for the 2023 Asia Cup. Rahul, who has been sidelined since May due to a leg injury, and Iyer, who has not participated in any international match since March due to an injury to his back, are all set to return. However, Rahul is currently ongoing with an injury, and his participation in the tournament’s initial matches is uncertain.
Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has strongly supported Rahul’s inclusion, emphasizing that batters like them do not need as much match practice as bowlers before significant tournaments.
