“Dream form”- Twitter reacts as Suryakumar Yadav smashes 52 to help India beat Western Australia by 13 runs in 1st practice match
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav is one of the biggest assets for Team India right now. Indian cricket fans want him to be in this fine form when Rohit Sharma’s Men in Blue will lock-horns against other teams in the actual T20 World Cup matches.
In the first warm-up game against Western Australia, India won the toss and opted to bat first. They were under pressure and the entered Suryakumar. He scored a fantastic 52 runs off 35 balls to propel India to 158/6 in 20 overs on Monday, October 10 at the WACA in Perth.
India is experimenting with its players. Rohit is a regular opener but Rishabh Pant, who usually plays at No. 5 or No. 6 opened the innings alongside the skipper. Virat Kohli was rested in the practice match, all-rounder Hardik Pandya chipped in 29 runs, while Deepak Hooda scored 22 runs. In the end, India was able to put on 158/6 in 20 overs.
Chasing 159, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh’s early blows tethered Western Australia’s innings, they were 29/4 after the PowerPlay. WA never managed to help themselves from that and eventually, Indian bowlers restricted WA on 145/8 in 20 overs to win the first warm-up match by 13 runs. Arshdeep conceded six runs and scalped three wickets, while Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets for 15 runs.
14 members have arrived in Australia as they’re yet to reveal the 15th player who will replace Jasprit Bumrah. Rohit had said Bumrah’s replacement will be revealed in Australia.
