Suryakumar Yadav responds to Virat Kohli’s ‘video game innings’
Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav
Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav set the stage on fire in the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series against New Zealand on Sunday (November 20). He took the bowlers to the cleaners as he scored his second T20I hundred. He remained unbeaten on 111, taking just 51 deliveries, including 11 fours and seven sixes.
The innings was mesmerizing that even Virat Kohli couldn’t resist himself from praising his teammate. Kohli called it a ‘video game innings’. His post captioned: “Numero Uno showing why he’s the best in the world. Didn’t watch it live but I’m sure this was another video game innings by him.”
Yadav was adjudged the player of the match for his match-winning knock. Following the match, the right-handed batter said that he enjoys batting with Kohli. “Recently we played together and stitched partnerships as well. I really enjoy batting with him, but we need to run a lot because he is super fit,” he said.
Suryakumar Yadav welcomes the tweet
Suryakumar Yadav, who has scored the most runs in T20I this year, also reacted to the ‘video game reference’ and said that he will take it as a compliment. He also stated how the two share a strong chemistry on the field and understand each other’s game very well.
“But at the same time when we bat together we hardly discuss our game. We respect each other and know how he play. However, I do tell him one thing that you stand firm at one end and I’ll continue to play my shots from the other. I’ll take it as a compliment and look forward on how to improve further,” he added.
Ever since making his debut in 2021, Yadav has taken the world by storm. He is looking to take no pause and continuous smash runs, no matter who the opponent is. With the 2023 World Cup approaching, he will definitely be in the scheme of things for the Men in Blue.
