South Africa fast bowler Lungi Ngidi shared a picture on his Instagram on Thursday [October 13], ahead of Protea’s departure to Australia for the T20 World Cup. Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi left hilarious comments on Ngidi’s post.

In the picture, Ngidi posed with Kagiso Rabada, Wayne Parnell, and Andile Phehluckwayo. Ngidi’s caption read: “923 INTERNATIONAL WICKETS Backseat Bruddas.”

Shamsi reacted with: “Come pad up and give me one more“.

Ngidi replied to this comment with: “don’t make me run those stats boy“.

Shamsi then wrote: “Oh so I don’t have international wickets? @lungingidi“.

And Ngidi’s reply: “are you in the photo? [ended the comment with a yawning emoticon].”

Tabraiz Shamsi is the No.4 bowler in T20Is

Tabraiz Shamsi has so far played 32 ODIs and scalped 41 wickets. The left-arm off-spin bowler picked up 69 wickets in 57 T20Is, while in two Tests, he has six wickets. He made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2016 and ended up playing only five matches, scalping three wickets. Shamsi currently stands at No.4 on the ICC Men’s T20 bowling ranking. 

Lungi Ngidi, meanwhile, has played 15 Tests, grabbing 49 wickets. IN 36 ODIs, the right-arm fast-medium bowler scalped 63 wickets, while in 31 T20Is, he scalped 49 wickets.

Temba Bavuma-led South Africa will kick-start its T20 World Cup campaign against the winner of Group B on Monday, October 24 at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The showpiece event will start on October 16 with a match between Sri Lanka and Namibia. The final will be played on November 13 at the MCG in Melbourne.
