Talking about the match, LSG had won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB openers Virat Kohli scored 25 runs and Patidar entered the field when RCB skipper Faf du Plessis departed for a duck. It had rained at Eden Gardens and there was dampness on the track.

When big players like Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis left the field, Lucknow must have thought that they had now control over the innings but were oblivious to the fact that Rajat Patidar wouldn’t spare LSG’s famed bowling attack in the likes of Avesh Khan, Dushmantha Chameera.

“I wasn’t looking for my century, I was trying my best to score runs for my team. I didn’t focus on the century,” said Rajat Patidar during the match.

Moreover, RCB narrowly qualified for the playoffs and LSG had finished third in the points table. So the team winning in this Eliminator will reach the Qualifier 2 where Rajasthan Royals is awaiting them. In the Qualifier 1, Gujarat Titans defeated RR to secured a berth in the finals and the winner of Qualifier 2 will join them.
