“Teach him the basics,” MI fans left unimpressed with Nehal Wadhera as batter runs out two of his teammates
Coming to the result of the game, the Rohit Sharma-led team lost the match by 55 runs as Gujarat Titans restricted the five-time champions to 152/9.
Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Nehal Wadhera was at the centre of criticism for his unruly behaviour on the field during his team’s match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday. Wadhra ran out two of his batting partners and this certainly did not sit well with the fans. Despite Wadhera’s valiant knock (40 off 21), his lack of awareness and communication gap with teammates threw him under the bus.
Chasing a mammoth target of 208, Mumbai Indians never looked settled as the five-time champions kept losing wickets. However, Wadhera played some really good-looking shots in the middle and took MI closer to the target. However, as he was nearing his half-century, the MI batter’s body language suddenly changed and fans did not like it at all.
While a few criticized Wadhera claiming he was looking for his fifty, some just could not comprehend the unruly behaviour.
Check out the reactions.
Meanwhile, a few fans also lauded Wadhera for his knock and felt that he can replace Ishan Kishan at the top of the order.
MI look clueless as ever!
Coming to the result of the game, the Rohit Sharma-led team lost the match by 55 runs as Gujarat Titans restricted the five-time champions to 152/9. Nehal Wadhera ended the match as MI’s highest scorer. But it was not the batting that caused this massive defeat, the damage was done in the first innings.
Despite keeping GT’s run rate in check till the 14th over, MI ended up conceding 94 runs in the last six overs. Although Abhinav Manohar, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia batted exceptionally, MI made mistakes too. The biggest of them was Rohit handing the 18th over to Cameron Green where GT added 22 runs.
