Team India took on the West Indies in the second ODI of the three-match series on Saturday (29 July). The team management decided to rest Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma citing workload management. But the decision backfired big time as India’s batting lineup collapsed with only five batters scoring in double digits.

Despite a solid opening partnership between Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, India were bowled out for 181. While Kishan scored a run-a-ball 55, Gill was dismissed for 34. The third-highest score in India’s inning was 24 from Suryakumar Yadav. Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja scored 16 and 10 respectively.

Meanwhile, the likes of Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel were dismissed for single-digit scores. Such was the collapse that India were reduced to 113/5 from 90/0 at one stage. Eventually, the visitors were bowled out for 181 with Mukesh Kumar being the last man to be dismissed.
