Team India took the two-match Test series 1-0 after the final day of the Trinidad Test match was washed off. Post that, the team was traveling from Trinidad to Barbados ahead of the ODI series when their late-night flight got delayed by 4 hours.

The flight which was supposed to take off at 11 pm from Trinidad, got delayed and took off at 3 am instead. The team landed at their destination at 5 am in the morning. Troubled by the delays, Team India has requested the BCCI to reschedule their upcoming night flights and plan the travel during the day moving ahead. The team had left the hotel by 8:40 pm and had to wait for four extra hours to board their flight.

Talking to the Indian Express, a BCCI source informed, “They had left the hotel by 8:40 pm for the airport and had to wait for a long time at the airport. The team management has requested us to book a morning flight instead of late-night flights as players want some rest post game. The BCCI has agreed to it and is planning to revise the next schedule.”

The 3-match ODI series between India and West Indies is set to begin on 27th July 2023. The ODI series could very well see the return of Kul-Cha as both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been announced as part of the squad. Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Sanju Samson are set to be back in action in the Indian Blues as well.

Since June 2009, India and West Indies have faced off in 52 ODIs out of which India have won 35. In even more positive news, India have won the last 12 bilateral ODI series played between the two countries. The odds favor India but a Windies upset could be on the cards if the hosts play to their potential.
