Shakib Al Hasan
Bangladesh all rounder Shakib Al Hassan showed some brilliant reflexes on the field as he broke the stumps with a throw to get rid of Zimbabwean batsman Sean Williams. The ball was hit on the wrong side of the Bangladeshi southpaw, who ran to it, picked it up with his left arm and threw it onto the stumps. The Zimbabwe batter was caught napping as he was dismissed by this brilliant piece of fielding from the Bangladesh skipper.
The best thing about the whole dismissal is that Shakib had to do it all when he was off balance. He showed tremendous agility and his reflexes evidently got the better of Sean Williams. More importantly, it was a crucial wicket as Williams was looking set and was taking the match, slowly but surely, away from the Tigers.
Twitter erupted with reactions, not only from the Bangladeshi fans but also from all the cricket fans around the world. It was a highly appreciable effort from the Bangladesh captain, and the fans did not hold back. While some termed Shakib as the “GOAT”, others gave him all the credit of bringing Bangladesh back in the game and the tournament with that effort.
The hopes of Bangladesh were revived courtesy of Shakib Al Hassan’s stellar performance

It was a very close match with a number of twists and turns. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. They put on a total of 150 runs, powered by a formidable batting performance from Najmul Hossain Shanto, who scored 71 runs from 55 balls. Captain Shakib Al Hassan and Afif Hossain scored 23 and 29 runs respectively and helped their team put up a score considerable enough for a fight.
Zimbabwe batters found it difficult from the word go as they fell victim to some fine bowling performance from the Bangladesh pacers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman. They lost four quick wickets including their talisman Sikandar Raza with the first six overs. However, with Sean Williams playing freely from his end, they looked on track to their third successive victory.
That objective remained unfulfilled due to the brilliant fielding performance by Shakib Al Hassan. The Bangladesh skipper made sure that Williams was dismissed on his personal score of 64 runs. The match went down to the wire as Bangladesh won it by 3 runs to register their first victory in the tournament with a hard-earned and well deserved performance with both the bat and the ball.
