The Indo-Pak encounter at the MCG went right down to the wire on Sunday evening. Eventually, Team India emerged victorious after Ravi Ashwin scored the winning runs off the final delivery. Without a doubt, Virat Kohli remained the Man of the Moment as he scored a brilliant unbeaten knock of 82 runs.

There were a couple of controversial moments towards the end of the second innings. The umpires were under absolute pressure given the magnitude of the fixture, and the intensity with which the game was being played. In the final over, the fourth delivery was called as a no-ball by the leg-umpire. To make matters worse for Pakistan, Virat Kohli had cleared the ropes for a maximum to bring the equation down to 6 runs from three deliveries.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain was unimpressed by a fan misquoting him in regards to the controversial decision. The commentator politely asked the user to delete the tweet, as it was spreading false information. The original tweet showed the Englishman calling out the bias in favor of Team India, and the power the BCCI holds on the ICC.

Nasser Hussain also added that the Indo-Pak fixture on Sunday does not deserve to be surrounded by such controversies. Many Pakistani fans have been left disappointed with the umpire’s decision to give a no-ball at a crucial juncture in the game.

Moreover, during the free-hit, when the ball hit the stumps and went behind to the third man area, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik sneaked in three runs. This was another controversial moment, which again went in the favor of India.

Despite the close calls, fans were treated to an absolute spectacle at the MCG, with India and Pakistan delivering a game for the ages. Virat Kohli’s magnificent knock will be remembered by the fans for a very long time, which in his own words is the best T20I knock he had played till date.
