According to the Future Tours Program (FTP), Pakistan’s PSL schedule might take place parallely to that of cricket’s huge sport league IPL. The reason behind this is the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 which Pakistan will host. This might make them push their window for the PSL into the months of March, April, and May. And IPL is usually being played in these months.

Hogg shared a video on his Instagram account where he shed his thoughts how both leagues being played at the same time will increase their rivalry more and how both the leagues will try to strengthen their marketing better.

“The Future Tours Program has just been announced and there’s something that I love about it in 2025. That is the PSL being forced to play alongside the IPL. Also, this is going to create a bigger rivalry between the two countries,” Hogg said.

“Fans are going to get behind their T20 competition to outdo their rivals across the road and franchises have to be more marketable to make sure they get better bank for their buck,” he added.

Brad Hogg then opined that PSL should bring more overseas players during the 2025 edition. Because two-and-a-half month time has been alloted to the IPL according to the FTP and this can give brilliant opportunity to PSL as international matches won’t be there so that IPL can have overseas players.

“The calender is freed up in this particular period so overseas players can play in the IPL. The PSL should have been taking advantage of it because there is enough talent around the globe to fill all the international spots in both competitions.”

“There’s not too many players that play in the PSL and then go and play in the IPL because they don’t have enough time,” Hogg concluded.
