The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday unveiled Team India’s new training kit manufactured and designed by the new kit sponsor, Adidas. The Indian cricket board shared a few pictures of the Indian players who are in England preparing for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final in the new training kit. Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, and the Team India coaches posed before the camera wearing the new kit.

The new training kit is sky blue in colour with the famous three stripes spread across the shoulder. There is a BCCI logo on the left on the chest while the kit sponsor’s logo sits on the right side. The three stripes can also be spotted on the side of both arms.

As soon as BCCI dropped these pictures, fans were quick to react to them. Most of them looked pleased with the new design and hoped for better match jerseys from the new kit sponsor. “This looks so cool. Can’t wait for the Jersey to drop. Adidas is the best kit sponsor Indian team could have got,” commented one of the users on BCCI’s post.

The BCCI also dropped a video on Thursday morning wherein the players relived their WTC Fina qualification. Rohit Sharma summed up the journey saying it was not easy. The India captain also said that the job is not done yet. “After the World Test Championship (2021 final) in Southampton, we quickly had to regroup and get ready for the next cycle,” Rohit said in a video posted by BCCI on its website.

“I thought in that cycle we played some really, really tough cricket. We were challenged a lot of times and I thought to come out of that was obviously going to take a lot of character from not just a few individuals, but everyone.”
