In the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup, Rohit Sharma had scored a massive 140 runs in 113 balls. After winning the game, he was interacting with the press. When asked how Pakistan could improve their batting, he gave a hilarious answer.
In the press conference, he was asked by a journalist, “What would you suggest to the Pakistani batsmen to come out of this crisis?” Rohit found the question amusing and replied, “Agar main Pakistan ka coach bana to bataunga, abhi kya bataunga? (If I become the Pakistan coach, I will surely tell, but what should I say now!)” This response was met with laughter by everyone in the press conference.
Along with Rohit’s 140, Virat Kohli scored 77 and KL Rahul had scored 57 in that match. Towards the end of the innings, Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya also contributed with the bat, getting India’s total to 336 in 50 overs.
Pakistan lost a wicket early but Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam built a partnership. After Kuldeep Yadav dismissed the duo, Pakistan lost wickets one after the other. After a rain delay, the overs were reduced to 40 and the target to 302. India won the match by 89 runs as Pakistan scored 212/6 in their 40 overs.
