India’s youngest batting sensation Tilak Varma has announced himself on the biggest stage with some really good performances. Although Varma has only played two innings so far, the left-handed batter has left a mark scoring 39 and 51 so far. While Varma missed out on the chance to score his maiden T20I fifty in the first T20I, he achieved it in the second match and then backed it with a special celebration.

Varma brought up a dance move and then made a thumbs-up gesture after he reached his half-century during the second T20I against the West Indies. The batter then cleared the confusion around it at the mid-innings presentation, revealing that it was for Rohit Sharma’s daughter Samaira

“It was all about (for) Sammy, Rohit bhai’s daughter because our relation is really good,” said Varma after the match. “I had said to her that whenever I will score a century or a fifty, I will do a celebration for her,” Varma added.

On a sluggish Guyana wicket, Tilak Varma top-scored for India with his 41-ball 51. On the back of his fifty, India posted 252/7 on the board but only to face a defeat. The West Indies chased down the target with 7 balls to spare. Despite Yuzvendra Chahal’s sensational comeback wherein the leg-spinner claimed two wickets, India lost the game.

Hardik Pandya did not complete Chahal’s quota of overs and asked Mukesh Kumar to bowl the penultimate over. The move backfired as Akeal Hosein smashed a six and a boundary to finish things off for his team. Earlier, Nicholas Pooran played a blistering knock wherein he scored 67 runs off just 40 balls.

With this defeat, India now trail 0-2 in the five-match T20I series. While losing back-to-back T20Is has already drawn a lot of criticism for Team India, losing the series will create a ruckus back in the country.
