Pakistan’s pace sensation Haris Rauf recalled a story related to India’s former captain MS Dhoni. The incident was from the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 where India and Pakistan clashed against each other.

That match also ended India’s winning streak in the World Cup matches because Babar Azam and co. clinched the victory by 10 wickets.

However, MS Dhoni, who was travelling with team India as their mentor talked with several Pakistani cricketers after the match. One of them was the young pacer Haris Rauf. The 28-year-old was given some insights into the game with them.

While they were chatting, he asked Dhoni for his jersey, not team India one but the Chennai Super Kings one.

“I met MS Dhoni after the game against India at the T20 World Cup last year. I asked him to give me one of his shirts. But I told him that I wanted a CSK jersey and not the Team India one,” Rauf said on YouTube channel ‘The Grade Cricketer.’ “He told me that he will surely send me that. I finally received it when I was in Australia.”

Haris Rauf also shared a story about the time when he was picked as a net bowler for team India. He told about the conversation he had with the flamboyant India all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

“The Indian team’s manager wanted some net bowlers who could bowl to the batters in Australia. I felt it would be a great opportunity for me to bowl to international cricketers. I bowled to the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli in the nets. Hardik Pandya was bowling alongside me and he told me that I was doing good and that he’s sure that I’d soon be playing for the Pakistan team,” Rauf said.
