David Miller and Vijay Shankar went berserk when Gujarat Titans (GT) locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday (April 29) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The Hardik Pandya-led side successfully chased down the 180-run target to win the match by seven wickets (with 13 balls remaining).

Chasing the target, GT rather started slow but they did keep the scoring rate under control. It was only after the second Strategic Break that GT batters started opening their arms and went all guns blazing.

At one point, Suyash Sharma dropped Miller off Andre Russell’s delivery but his dismissal wouldn’t have created a mess as Shankar fired on all cylinders. He racked up an unbeaten 51 runs from just 24 balls, including two fours and five maximums, and batted at a massive strike rate of 212.50.

On the other hand, Miller’s bat produced unbeaten 32 runs from 18 balls, with two fours and an equal number of sixes. Soon GT found themselves steering toward the target to win the match easily by seven wickets, in the process, revenged their defeat when they met in the league earlier.
