Did Suryakumar Yadav display his vintage avatar? Indeed he did. After a series of flop shows in international cricket, he gradually got back his form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and suddenly he displayed his old avatar when he played an astounding knock against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to power Mumbai Indians (MI) to a huge win at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday (May 9).

MI chased down the 200-run target in just 16.3 overs, all thanks not just to Suryakumar Yadav, but opener Ishan Kishan as well as Nehal Wadhera. MI skipper Rohit Sharma has been dealing with a lean patch in IPL and it continued in this match also, as he scored seven runs from eight balls.

After Rohit’s departure, Kishan and Suryakumar went berserk. Kishan played a blazing innings of a 21-ball 42 runs with four boundaries and an equal number of sixes, at a huge strike rate of 200 but before he could further do more damage, Wanindu Hasaranga gave RCB their first breakthrough by dismissing the youngster.

Later, Suryakumar Yadav proved why social media fans keep saying “Sky has no limit” after his knocks. Suryakumar batted a monstrous strike rate of 237.14, hammering 83 runs from 35 balls with four boundaries and six maximums, helping the hosts cross 190 when Vyshak Vijay Shankar got rid of him in the 16th over but the damage had already been done and it was nearly impossible for the visitors to recover from there.
