“Pak Bean revenge has been taken!”- Twitter explodes after watching Pakistan’s humiliating defeat to Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe defeat Pakistan by 1 run

Pakistan needed one run to defend against India on the last ball in their previous clash, but in their second match of T20 World Cup against Zimbabwe, Babar Azam’s men needed just one run to win. And they failed. Zimbabwe displayed a terrific performance from the very start with against a top team like Pakistan and what fans needed more than to watch one of the strongest contenders of the World Cup struggling to even get their two points needed to remain in the contest.

Pakistan got a 131-run target by Zimbabwe on Thursday [October 27] at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The opening Pakistan duo Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam and other batters’ wickets fell like pack of cards. Only Shan Masood could score 44 runs off 38 runs, and it didn’t help the Men in Green a bit because they had already lost six wickets on 94 runs.

Sikandar Raza was the star bowler behind Pakistan’s collapse. He scalped three wickets, the likes of Masood, Shadab Khan, and ran out Shaheen Afridi on the last ball when one run was needed. Raza displayed if not with the bat, he can very well contribute with the ball.

One run was needed off the last ball in the final over. Shaheen and Mohammad Wasim were at the crease. On the last ball, Brad Evans bowled a full and on the middle to Shaheen. He smashed it and ran hard but Raza threw the ball to the wicket-keeper Regis Chakabva. Chakabva fumbled a bit but had enough time as he caught Shaheen well short of his crease and Zimbabwe won by one run.

Very disappointing batting my team. We were not up to the mark with batting. Unfortunately, we got out in first six overs, and then unfortunately Shadab got out and then the back-to-back wickets and pressure built up. The first six overs we didn’t use the new ball well but later on we made up. 10 runs more to Zimbabwe. We will sit together, discuss mistakes, train hard and come back in the next game,” a disappointed Babar Azam said after the match.
