The West Indian is playing his 100th match for the two-time champions. Now he has 107 matches under his belt in IPL.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell achieved a special milestone for his team on Saturday (April 29) during the match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The West Indian is playing his 100th match for the two-time champions.
Russell made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2012 but played just seven matches, scoring 58 runs in four innings for the side. He donned the DD jersey till 2013 and the next year, he was signed by the KKR. Since then, Russell became a force to be reckoned with whenever KKR played matches.
In 2014, KKR lifted their second IPL trophy though Russell only played two matches. Overall, he has 107 matches under his belt, aggregating 2177 runs and picking up 94 wickets. Russell, on several occasions, has single-handedly secured a victory for the team.

Talking about the ongoing match between KKR and GT, the former, after being asked to bat first put on 179/7 in their 20 overs. After Rahmanullah Gurbaz‘s blistering 39-ball 81, which was laced with five boundaries and seven sixes, Russell gave a nice finishing touch to take the team to the aforementioned total. He racked up 19-ball 34 runs with two boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 179.95.
Among the GT bowlers, Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers, for his scalping three wickets, at the same time, he conceded 33 runs. But star Afghan spinner Rashid Khan (54/0) leaked far too many runs in his four-over spell.
At the time of writing this article, GT have reached 111 for the loss of three wickets in 13 overs, and Vijay Shankar and David Miller are at the crease. Russell has bagged one wicket (Wriddhiman Saha) so far.
