“Your father will be proud of you!”- Twitter erupts as Umesh Yadav rattles Australia after drinks, triggers classic collapse
He bowled just five overs, conceded 12 runs, and scalped three wickets in three overs- of Camron Green, Mitchell Starc, and Todd Murphy.

Umesh Yadav
Umesh Yadav overcame personal grief and turned agony into ecstasy. The fast bowler who lost his father a week ago paired with Ravichandran Ashwin to rip through Australia’s batting line-up to wrap up their first innings before lunch on Thursday (March 2).
In and out of the team, Umesh used the reverse swing to rattle the Aussies and grabbed three wickets. At 35 plus, Umesh showed that he was not going to let personal emotions affect him. He rocked.
It looked as if the tourists finally found a way to bat on the turning Indian track at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, but right after the drinks break in the first session on Day 2, Ravichandran Ashwin broke the stand between Peter Handscomb and Cameron Green by dismissing the former, hence triggered the collapse. Soon Umesh and Ashwin found themselves bagging three wickets each to restrict Steve Smith’s men to 197 when they started the day 47 runs ahead of India.
Umesh Yadav made a comeback to the Test side after the management rested Mohammed Shami for this Test and maybe for the fourth one too. He bowled just five overs, conceded 12 runs, and scalped three wickets in three overs- of Camron Green, Mitchell Starc, and Todd Murphy.
Umesh is fifth on the list of scalping the most number of wickets in India. He achieved a special feat to his name when he clean-bowled Starc. He became a part of the bowling greats who scalped more than 100 wickets in India. Umesh joined Kapil Dev (219), Javagal Srinath (108), Zaheer Khan (104), and Ishant Sharma (104) on the list. He also became the 13th bowler to complete 100 wickets in India, and now he has 101 wickets in India at an average of 24.53.

Umesh went wicketless on Day 1, and so did Ashwin. It was Ravindra Jadeja, who sent four batsmen in regular intervals to the pavilion. But this did not stop the Aussies from scoring runs.
On a turning pitch, fast bowlers from Australia did not get any wickets during India’s first innings. Their three spinners- Matthew Kuhnemann got a fifer, Nathan Lyon bagged three, while Todd Murphy picked up one.
During India’s bowling also, Jadeja was successful in sending the top order into packing. Later, as mentioned, Ashwin and Umesh got three. They took a lead of 88 runs. India started their second innings, they scored 13 runs and are trailing behind 75 runs.
