Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are locking horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday (March 15) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai Indians. RCB’s Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh took them to 150/4 after a horrible start from the openers.

After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning chose to field first. RCB skipper and opener Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine walked in to start the innings.

But Smriti Mandhana once again failed with her bat, scoring just eight runs, before Shikha Pandey dismissed her in the fifth over with a fine catch by Jemimah Rodrigues. After her, it was Sophie Devine’s chance to lose her wicket to Shikha four overs later. She added 21 runs from 19 balls.

Once again Ellyse Perry and Heather Knight had to shoulder the responsibility to take RCB to at least a challenging total. But Tara Norris wouldn’t let this happen as she dismissed Knight for 11 runs. Shikha Pandey dived to her left to catch the stunner.

Perry started slow but shifted her gears in the death overs to slam another half-century. She remained unbeaten on 67 runs from 52 balls, which included four fours and five sixes.

But Richa Ghosh, right from the beginning, started going for big hits and batted at a strike rate of 231.25. But Shikha Pandey struck again to end her knock in the 19th over. Norris delivered a fuller ball which Ghosh wanted to scoop but missed it. The ball traveled toward the keeper who caught it. The umpire did not raise her finger but Lanning decided to review it. UltraEdge confirmed the dismissal and Ghosh exited after a 16-ball 37 runs, which included three fours and the same number of sixes.

They are the only team right now who have lost all four of their previous matches. If they fail to win this one, they will have a slim chance to qualify for the knockout stage.
