Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul told broadcasters that he had no idea what was happening in the death overs against Gujarat Titans (GT). And sure enough, the fans also couldn’t believe their eyes. LSG faced a collapse, though, not in the middle overs.

At first, they were in a position from where losing the match looked distant. But they shocked the watchers of the game by losing the match by seven runs while chasing a paltry 136 on Saturday (April 22) at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow.

Now fans are only blaming KL Rahul for his sluggish innings for the loss. He took 61 balls to score 68 runs, which included eight boundaries. Fans are claiming his slow innings was the reason behind LSG’s humiliating defeat. However, not just Rahul, other LSG batters also flopped.

The other opener Kyle Mayers could score 24 runs from 19 balls, then Krunal Pandya too took 23 balls to contribute the same number of runs. Nicholas Pooran produced a below-par innings, scoring one run from seven balls. LSG then lost three wickets in the last over which shifted the momentum entirely toward the Titans, for LSG needed eight runs off the last ball and they eventually lost the match by seven runs.

In the last over, two LSG batters became victims of run-out and one became of a catch. The most astounding was Gujarat’s hat trick of dismissals.

On the third ball of the 19th over off Mohit Sharma, he dismissed Marcus Stoinis, then Vijay Shankar ran Ayush Badoni out on the next ball, followed by Rashid Khan‘s run out of Deepak Hooda. And when everyone was processing what was happening, Gujarat found themselves pulling off a dramatic victory by seven runs.
