Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul has become a target of jokes owing to his current poor form. But this batter did not use to struggle much during his starting days. He used to amaze the watchers of the game with his blitzkriegs every now and then.

But these days, a better innings from Rahul is seen only once in a blue moon. However, owing to his brilliant knocks in earlier matches, he scripted a special record when his team locked horns with Gujarat Titans on Saturday (April 22) at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow.

Rahul has become the fastest Indian to reach 7000 runs in T20 cricket. It took him 197 innings to reach the mark, which is way ahead of the second batter on the list, Virat Kohli, who took 212 innings to reach the milestone. Apart from Rahul and Kohli, the other names on the list include Shikhar Dhawan (251 innings), Suresh Raina (251 innings), and Rohit Sharma (258 innings).

Overall, Rahul is the third fastest to reach the landmark. Babar Azam stands atop by completing the runs in 187 matches, followed by Chris Gayle in 192 matches.
