Pakistan women made a strong comeback after their horrible one-wicket loss to Thailand in their previous match. For the first time in six years, Women in Green defeated India in the shortest format of the game. Pakistan put on 137/6 on the scoreboard before sending Harmanpreet Kaur’s women back to the pavilion on 124, winning the match by 13 runs on Friday, October 7 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof won the toss and batted first. Nida Dar was the star batter with a half-century knock of 56* runs off 37 balls.
Despite a decent start, India kept losing wickets in the middle-overs. Sabbhineni Meghana and Smriti Mandhana opened India’s innings and both of them scored 15 and 17 runs respectively. Jemimah Rodrigues could add only runs, while Dayalan Hemalatha scored 20 runs off 22 balls with three sixes.
