“Duckland”- Twitter goes crazy as Jasprit Bumrah breaks England’s back with 6 wickets

Jasprit Bumrah

In the first ODI against England, Jasprit Bumrah unleashed an assault that broke England’s back with his outstanding spell. He grabbed six wickets and conceded just 19 runs to restrict England to just a mere 110, which is also their lowest score against India.

India had won the toss and opted to field first. Former skipper Virat Kohli has pulled out of the match following a groin strain and Shreyas Iyer replaced him. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow walked out to bat but Bumrah made sure to not keep them at the crease for a long time. Roy was bowled on duck while a Rishabh Pant stunning catch saw Bairstow follow Roy.

Joe Root played just two balls and Bumrah trapped him with a vicious bounce and the ball fell into the hands of Pant. Pant then took a sensational catch to dismiss Ben Stokes off Mohammed Shami’s delivery.

Only England captain Jos Buttler could score some runs. He played 32 balls to score 30 runs with six fours but Shami bowled a hard ball once again which was a shorter one and Buttler went for the pull but he got a top edge and Suryakumar Yadav at the deep square leg grabbed it safely. Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, David Wiley and the tailenders then got troubled by Bumrah and Shami and England were all packed to the dressing room on 110.
