“What a find!”- Twitter praises Prabath Jayasuriya as Sri Lanka bundle out Pakistan to level Test series by 1-1

After a dissapointing finish in the first Test against Pakistan, Sri Lanka came back strongly to level the two-match Test series in Galle. The visitors fell like a pack of cards on the final day while chasing a huge target.
Dhananjaya de Silva‘s century knock in the second innings helped Sri Lanka set up a huge target for Pakistan. Combined with a 147-run lead, Sri Lanka’s score read 508.
Pakistan were set to draw the match because they resumed their second innings on the final day at 89/1. They needed 419 runs more to win it. At lunch, Pakistan were 188/5 with skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan at the crease. Prabath Jayasuriya soon sent back Azam and after his wicket, it was easier for the bowlers to thrash them completely for 261. Babar Azam (81) was the highest run-scorer for his team. Jayasuriya was the hero of the match as he picked up five wickets. In only six innings, Jayasuriya has taken his fourth five-wicket hauls.
Jayasuriya picked up eight wickets in the second Test. After the match, he talked about his early struggles.
“It was tough. I had financial problems as well. I had to balance all that and didn’t want to put pressure on my family either. I had opportunities to play outside the country, but my motivation was to play for my country and play Tests. I gave my everything towards that goal and have some success now,” Jayasuriya said.
“I’ve been taking wickets from school level with my arm ball. On any pitch that turns, you can often get a lot of wickets with the ball that’s hitting the stumps. The batter is looking for the one that turns, and you’ve got a big opportunity to get him with the straighter one,” he added.
