“Not satisfied without Kohli”- Twitter reacts as BCCI announces ODI squad for Zimbabwe; Shikhar Dhawan to lead
Deepak Chahar
On Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team and KL Rahul’s availability is still in question. He has been asked to rest for one more week and this has led to his missing the ongoing T20I series against West Indies.
Also, according to several reports Virat Kohli will also be included in the squad as this might help him to get in form. However, BCCI still will give him rest. But India pacer Deepak Chahar will return to cricket because he has been included in the squad.
Chahar, a Chennai Super Kings member, has missed the whole season of Indian Premier League 2022 due to injury. The injury also led him to miss England, and West Indies series as well.
Washington Sundar will also make a comeback. He regained his fitness after playing well in the County Championship. Rahul Tripathi, who had been given a chance in the warm-up game, might get his ODI cap in the series against Zimbabwe.
In the wicket-keeper’s list, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan are there while the pace department includes Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, and Prasidh Krishna. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel are the spinners in the series.
