UP Warriorz are locking horns with the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday (March 15) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Warriorz put on a defendable target of 136 with the help of Grace Harris‘ knock.

RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to bowl first. Alyssa Healy and Devika Vaidya, UP openers, Walked out to bat but Sophie Devine stuck in the first over itself by dismissing Vaidya for a golden duck on her second delivery and getting rid of Healy on the last ball.

In the next over, Megan Schutt trapped Tahlia McGrath. For a while, Kiran Navgire held on to crease but in the seventh over, she became Sobhana Asha’s victim. RCB lost their fifth batter Simran Shaikh in the ninth over and were reeling at 31/5. But if it wasn’t for Grace Harris, UP Warriorz would have faltered horribly. She smashed five fours and two sixes to score 46 of 32 balls at a strike rate of 143.75.

However, Ellyse Perry in the 16th over delivered a short ball, which Harris tried to pull but got a faint edge. Keeper Richa Ghosh behind the stumps did no mistake and quickly dislodged the bails.

Before Harris, it was Deepti Sharma who became Ellyse Perry‘s prey. She contributed 22 runs from 19 balls with four boundaries, before Perry’s full toss delivery made Deepti swing her bat but the ball traveled straight to deep mid-wicket fielder Shreyanka Patil who grabbed it comfortably.

Somehow UP Warriorz reached 135 in 19.3 overs despite at one point, their score reach 31/5. Sophie Devine was the wrecker-in-chief as she broke UP’s backbone by dismissing the openers, while Ellyse Perry took care in the middle overs by getting rid of three batters. She scalped the most wickets for the RCB by conceding 16 runs in her full quota of four overs. Sobhana Asha picked up two wickets, while Shreyanka Patl and Megan Schutt got one each.
