Last year’s two new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are locking horns on Saturday (April 22) at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow. The visitors, with Hardik Pandya’s half-century and opener Wriddhiman Saha’s 47, put on a decent total of 135/6 in their 20 overs.
After winning the toss, GT skipper Hardik Pandya chose to bat first but this decision backfired. They were finding it difficult to bat on the pitch but somehow huffed and puffed to the aforementioned total.
Krunal drew the first blood by sending Shubman Gill into packing for a duck off two balls. Then the LSG all-rounder would dismiss the other opener Wriddhiman Saha as well, who missed a well-deserved half-century. Saha smashed six boundaries to score 47 runs from 37 balls.
Later, Hardik Pandya played a captain’s inning, albeit, it was a sluggish knock. However, it was valuable for the team when they were losing wickets at regular intervals. He played 50 balls to score 66 runs, including two fours and four maximums at a decent strike rate of 132.

Apart from Hardik Pandya, Abhivav Mahohar added three runs, Vijay Shankar scored 10 off 12, while David Miller also flopped in this match, scoring six runs from 12 balls.
Among the bowlers, Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis got two wickets each, and Naveen-ul-Haq and Amit Mishra got one each. LSG have started their run chase and they are also struggling with the bat.
