“Cricket is a game of uncertainty”- Twitter reacts as Scotland stuns former T20 WC champions West Indies by 42 runs

Cricket fans were all surprised when Scotland defeated former T20 World Cup champion West Indies in the Group match. In a rain-delayed match, Scotland put on 160/5 in their 20 overs and bowled out West Indies on 118 in 18.3 overs to win the match by 42 runs on Monday, October 17 at the Blundstone Arena in Hobart.
West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first. George Munsey was the star batter for Scotland as he scored an unbeaten 66 runs off 53 balls (with nine fours), helping his team to set a respectable target. Other batters- Calum MacLeon (23), Michael Jones (20), Richie Berrington (16) and Chris Greaves (16) also supported in innings building.
West Indies started well but lost the wicket of opener Kyle Mayers (20) in the third over. Evin Lewis also failed to add a big score, departing after 14 runs. Brandon King scored 17 runs off 15 balls with three fours, while other batters- apart from Jason Holder– scored single runs.
Holder scored the most runs for his team. He scored 38 runs off 33 balls with four boundaries and a six at a strike rate of 115.15. But in the 19th over, Safyaan Sharif bowled a full one around off. Holder looked to go downtown but didn’t hit that well. The fielder Greaves was at the long-off and he caught the ball, and Scotland bowled out West Indies on 118 in 18.3 overs. Mark Watt grabbed three wickets for Scotland.
