Ranji Trophy’s star batter Sarfaraz Khan has been in the headlines because of his consistent innings in the first-class matches for Mumbai. Now, his brother, Musheer Khan also started amassing runs. He slammed a triple-century in the CK Nayudu Trophy on Monday (January 23) with the help of 30-plus boundaries.

In the CK Nayudu Trophy against Hyderabad, Mumbai batted first and put on a mammoth total of 704 runs courtesy of Musheer, who scored 339 runs, adorned with 34 boundaries and nine maximums. The 17-year-old scored the runs off just 367 balls at a strike rate of 90-plus. Apart from Musheer, Atharva Vinod also whacked a double-century and scored 201 runs.

Meanwhile, his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan has amassed 3505 runs in just 37 matches, with his highest being an unbeaten 301 runs at an average of 79.65. In the Ranji Trophy 2022-2023 season, Sarfaraz has so far played six matches but scored more than 500 runs. Despite his consistent performance with century knocks, the 25-year-old is yet to earn the India call-up.

Recently, his father Naushad Khan recalled how Sarfaraz Khan called himself more fortunate than Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun Tendulkar. Sarfaraz used to play junior games alongside Arjun.

One day, he came to his father and said (as quoted by The Indian Express), “Abbu, Arjun kitna naseeb wala hain na? (Father, Arjun is too lucky). He has everything in life like cars, Ipads, etc.” Naushad didn’t say anything as he was helpless.

Later, Sarfaraz came running back gave a tight hug to his dad, and said, “I am more fortunate than him because my dad gets to spend the whole day with me. Arjun’s father can’t spend enough time with him.” Sarfaraz and Musheer share a strong bond with their father.
