“What a world cup is going on!”- Twitter reacts as the Netherlands defeats Namibia by 5 wickets in a tight T20 WC Group A match

NAM vs NED
Namibia fought back to defend its small-run target of 122 but couldn’t restrict the Netherlands from winning the match. In the fifth match of Group A, the Dutch took the game towards the penultimate over but won it by five wickets on Tuesday, October 18 at the GMHBA stadium in Gleelong.
Batting first, Jan Frylinck‘s slow knock could only help Namibia to put on 121/6 on the scoreboard. When the Netherlands walked out to chase, they got off to a fiery start, with openers Vikramjit Singh and Max O’Dowd stitching a 59-run stand for the first wicket.
Namibia got their first breakthrough when Bernard Scholtz dismissed Vikramjit in the ninth over. The ball was a tad short one around the leg stump. Vikramjit forced a pull shot but it was flat one; Nicol Loftie-Eaton at the mid-wicket fence grabbed a sharp catch to end Vikramjit’s knock. He departed after scoring 39 runs off 31 balls (with three fours and two sixes).
Other opener O’Dowd walked back to the pavilion after a 35-run knock off the number of balls. Gerhard Erasmus’s direct hit at non-striker’s end ended O’Dowd’s innings.
Bas de Leede then scored an unbeaten 30 runs off 30 balls with two boundaries; with Tim Pringle‘s eight runs needed, the Netherlands scored the six runs needed off six balls to win back to back matches in the Group stage.
De Leede was adjudged the Player of the Match for his all-round performance (scalped two wickets and scored 30 runs).
“We can’t afford to do that and we can learn from that as a team. The self belief has always been there and it’s nice to win two tight games. Maybe it opens up a bit more freedom for the boys,” said De Leede during the post match presentation.
