Tymal Mills ruled out of IPL 2022 due to injury, Mumbai Indians name replacement

Mumbai Indians have faced a setback after their ace left arm pacer Tymal Mills has been ruled out of IPL after sustaining an ankle injury. Mills had appeared in MI’s five matches and bagged six wickets. He has been replaced by South African Tristan Stubbs.
“Mumbai Indians have signed South African Tristan Stubbs as a replacement for Tymal Mills, who has sustained an injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the IPL,” the MI wrote in a press release.
“The 21-year-old, talented middle order batsman, recently debuted for the national South African A Squad against Zimbabwe. Tristan has had a very promising domestic season and played an important role for his team in the recently concluded T20 domestic league.
“Tristan will join the MI squad for the rest of the season.”
Stubbs has played 17 T20s with three half-centuries, scored 506 runs at a strike rate of 157.14. MI have signed him for a price of INR 20 Lakh.

Mumbai Indians struggle in IPL 2022
This season is Mumbai Indians’ worst one so far because they have lost all of their eight opening matches, and registered their maiden win against the Rajasthan Royals by five wickets at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The five-time champions are currently languishing at the bottom of the points-table with one win in their nine games so far.
Throughout the tournament MI’s bowlers were scrutinized because of MI’s losses. Tymal Mills was brought in for Rs 1.50 crore has an economy rate of 11.50 in five games which is the worst rate by a MI pacer.
Jasprit Bumrah has been the most crucial wicket-taker for Mumbai but so far, he could only get five wickets. Daniel Sams is the highest wicket-taker so far with seven dismissals to his name.
