Uttar Pradesh government honors Indian woman cricketer with post of DSP in UP after her performance in 2023 Asian Games
Due to her stellar performances, she rose to the second position in the ICC Women's T20I bowling rankings.

Indian woman cricketer Deepti Sharma has been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by the Uttar Pradesh government. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recognized her for her performance in the 2023 Asian Games.
Apart from getting appointed as DSP of UP Police, Sharma also received Rs 3 crore as an award. Sharma was presented with the award by Yogi Adityanath and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.

Indian women defeated Sri Lankan women in the final of the Asian Games held in Hangzhou, to win the gold medal. Sharma was also a part of the team that won the silver medal in the 2023 Commonwealth Games.
Deepti Sharma climbs to second place in ICC rankings
Deepti Sharma has been consistently performing for the Women in Blue. Due to her stellar performances, she rose to the second position in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings. England’s Sophie Ecclestone continues to top the list.
Sharma was also named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month last month. She scalped 19 wickets and scored 225 runs in December.
The 26-year-old was born in Agra on August 24, 1997, and made her debut in international cricket in an ODI match against South Africa. In 2016, she played her first T20I match against Australia. She played her maiden Test match in 2021 against England.
The all-rounder has scored 317 runs and scalped 16 wickets in four Test matches. While in 86 ODIs, she scored 1982 runs and picked up 100 wickets. In 102 T20Is, she scored 64 runs and bagged 113 wickets.
