A video of Sam Billings greeting fans in Tamil language has gone viral on Twitter. He used the word ‘Vanakkam’ while greeting the fans. Notably, ‘Vanakkam’ means ‘Hello’.

After two-year ban due to spot fixing saga, Chennai Super Kings returned to the Indian Premier League in 2018 and Sam Billings was one of their purchases. He played a 56-run match winning innings to lead the MS Dhoni-led team to a fine win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai.

Billings is one of the wicketkeepers in England right how. He has so far played three Tests, 25 ODIs, and 37 T20Is in his international career. In T20Is, he aggregated 4,574 runs in 221 innings. He has 24 half-centuries while 95* is best best in T20I cricket.

“He’s really a big Man United fan”- Sam Billings on MS Dhoni

Previously, after he his stint with CSK ended, in an interview, he revealed how he bonded with Dhoni and that Dhoni is a Manchester United fan and he used to invite Billings whenever the game was on.

“I absolutely loved my two years at CSK,” Billing told Cricbuzz. “The success in which the environment has had consistently over the time is unmatches really, probably on Mumbai have kind of been as consistent as CSK. To get a winners medal of the IPL is sometjing that I really cherished.”

“(There’s) no bigger star than MS Dhoni in terms of my role that I want to fulfill, there’s no better person to learn from than MS Dhoni. For me, it was great to pick his brains and just enjoy the environment that he’s created there,” he said.

“He’s really a big Man United fan and it really helps (chuckles). He used to invite me whenever the game was on and we used to watch in his room. It’s just pretty cool to talk about cricket with him and just learn from him, to see how he goes about his business (in terms of) practice, games.”
