In 2017, Virat Kohli signed a ₹110 crore deal with Puma to become their prime ambassador. Formerly signed with Nike and Adidas, he joined Puma on an eight-year deal. After completing six years, he will be leaving the brand.
According to CNBC TV18, Kohli is leaving the brand and will join Agilitas Sports. Agilitas Sports is formed by Abhishek Ganguly, the former managing director of Puma. He left Puma in May 2023 and started the new Agilitas.
He recently got a ₹100 crore investment in the brand and they will be making sportswear. Besides being the brand ambassador, Kohli will also receive a stake in the brand. The website of the company has already been opened, but it is still under work. Puma will lose a big asset, as his brand value made the company one of the biggest brands in India.
Virat Kohli unlikely for Rajkot and Ranchi Tests, extends personal leave
Virat Kohli had pulled out of the first two Tests of the England series just three days before the start of the series. In his place, KL Rahul played in the first Test but was then injured. Rajat Patidar made his debut in the 2nd Test in place of Rahul.
While there were rumors of his mother being unwell, it was quashed by his brother. It was then revealed by AB de Villiers that his wife, Anushka Sharma, was pregnant. While no one was supposed to know it, it is now public information.
The Rajkot and Ranchi Tests will be played on the 15th and 23rd of February. His participation in the final Test in Dharamshala, which will be played on 7th March, is also in doubt according to ESPNcricinfo. The series is currently tied 1-1.
