India’s modern-day great, Virat Kohli has had a stellar career against the West Indies and there’s no denying that he loves playing against them. He will be in action in the first Test against the Windies starting 12th July.
Virat Kohli has scored 3,653 runs against the West Indies, 467 runs shy from Jacques Kallis including 11 centuries across formats. Kohli has seven double hundreds in Tests out of which his first came against the Windies in Antigua in 2016. India amassed 566 in the first innings of the Test and won the match by an innings and 92 runs.
Virat Kohli’s first double-hundred came off 283 deliveries where he hit 24 boundaries. Team India is currently practicing hard in the nets to prepare for the Windies challenge. Here’s a glimpse of Virat Kohli meeting some fans in Dominica.

Virat Kohli reveals his favorite West Indies memory
Talking on Follow the Blues, Virat Kohli revealed his favorite memory from West Indies was when he scored his maiden Test double hundred in front of the legendary Sir Vivian Richards. It was an even more special evening for him later that day as he met the latter and was congratulated by the West Indies legend for achieving the special feat.
He said, “My favorite memory obviously is Antigua. I got my first-ever double hundred in Test cricket in Antigua in front of Sir Vivian Richards. That for me was a very, very special moment and then he met me in the evening as well and congratulated me. It can’t get any better than that.”
India’s tour of the West Indies will start with a two-match Test series on the 12th of July, also kicking off India’s 2023-25 WTC cycle.
