After making his debut against Sri Lanka in 2008, Kohli is all set to play his 500th international match and will join the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni.

The second Test of the two-match series against West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad on Thursday (July 20) will be his 500th international match. India are leading the series 1-0 and Kohli, in the first match, scored 76 runs. His 500th milestone also comes on the day when India and West Indies will play their 100th match.

Virat Kohli will be the tenth player and fourth Indian to reach the 500th match milestone. As for India, he joined Sachin Tendulkar who has 644 international caps to his name, MS Dhoni (with 538 matches), and Rahul Dravid (with 509 matches).

And about his batting numbers, he stands ahead with 25,461 runs off 499 matches at an average of 53.48 and a strike rate of 79.11. In those matches, he has hammered 75 centuries and 131 fifties. The 34-year-old is also the only player with a 50-plus average across all formats and has 100 international appearances across all formats.
